This is true to life in my own seminary experience at Pacific School of Religion, where a visiting professor also advised LGBT seminarians to lie and stay in the closet. She justified it by saying that other people had an inaccurate view of homosexuality, so it wasn’t a lie to say we weren’t like that. Anyway, Trudie, you’re right to wonder WHAT DO THEY TEACH in seminary these days?Kittredge Cherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02617858676733169316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29680163.post-52578016863413817952012-04-17T04:56:02.362-07:002012-04-17T04:56:02.362-07:00I can't resist a response here. So, the real sin is, always, pretending to be who, or what, you are not - or refusing to acknowledge your own reality. I can't help asking: What DO THEY TEACH in the seminary with which Tejas is familiar?Trudiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17866513608442388870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29680163.post-31540578085861738672012-04-16T21:18:33.170-07:002012-04-16T21:18:33.170-07:00I do understand why “The Seminarian” avoided the t...I do understand why “The Seminarian” avoided the topic of the Bible and homosexuality, because it has been covered thoroughly elsewhere many times. For Tejas and those like him: Jesus himself did not say anything directly about homosexuality in the Bible. Scripture does not condemn loving, responsible homosexual relationships. There are many resources that fully explain the Bible and homosexuality. Here are a few that I recommend:

http://mccchurch.org/resources/mcc-theologies/

http://christiangays.com/

http://www.gaychurch.org/Kittredge Cherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02617858676733169316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29680163.post-3145892352830060932012-04-16T04:06:03.683-07:002012-04-16T04:06:03.683-07:00"Surprisingly, these evangelical seminarians ..."Surprisingly, these evangelical seminarians apparently feel no conflict over being gay and Christian." Haha, I'll say. I don't get how one can go to seminary and not see how lying with another man is sinful. I just don't.Tejashttp://blog.tejaskumar.com/noreply@blogger.com
