Rumi could have had a homosexual orientation without actually engaging in sex with another man.Kittredge Cherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02617858676733169316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29680163.post-88505369653721732362016-04-02T11:52:58.262-07:002016-04-02T11:52:58.262-07:00You stupid blog writer don't spread lie about ...You stupid blog writer don't spread lie about Rumi you don't know what is love you think love and sex is same thing youbarevwrong you idiot rumi love Allah his poetry is not just words he experience all these things he express his experience by poetry you stupid pork eater no religion allowed pork and alcohol but you still eat n drink why coz you don't have brain your brain cells are damage by these things you don't know the difference between sex and love Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29680163.post-5475080260391553102013-10-11T21:08:02.077-07:002013-10-11T21:08:02.077-07:00Yes, I agree that Rumi talked a lot about his love...Yes, I agree that Rumi talked a lot about his love for God in his poetry. But he also loved Shams and I believe their love for each other was an expression of divine love and helped lead both of them closer to God.Kittredge Cherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02617858676733169316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29680163.post-39645318246778772072013-10-08T06:57:59.443-07:002013-10-08T06:57:59.443-07:00Okay, when Rumi references "he" in his p...Okay, when Rumi references "he" in his poetry he is talking about God and the Prophet SAW of Islam. He's not talking about another man. His poetry is still recited today in an appreciation for the Divine. Recently I met another man, we instantaneously loved each other, not in a sexual way but in a spiritual way and discovered we have been living parallel lives. For example, he did such and such so many years ago just as I had done, we both have the same career, we both have visited the same places, we're both immersed in hunger for enlightenment and God, neither of us has ever been married nor has children, even our dark sides are very similar. Could ours be akin to Rumi and his love?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06317321112210909489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29680163.post-57256433333900390182011-10-07T11:21:30.023-07:002011-10-07T11:21:30.023-07:00Yes, the Rumi love poems sound general and are not...Yes, the Rumi love poems sound general and are not gender-specific, but the actual inspiration for them happened to be male.

Welcome, Wes, to the Jesus in Love Blog! But until today, I really had no idea about the same-sex leanings of much of his work! I guess the poems I'd read were more general. Always enjoyed the whirling of the dervishes, too. Well, I simply must learn more! Thanks.Rev Wes Isleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13046348046273693706noreply@blogger.com
